As a world renown sporting brand, Nike, pays tribute every year to their roots by celebrating “Air Max Day” on 3/26. In Chicago, a dual celebration took place, for adults and young athletes (ages 6-12). Dimpl was part of the youth event which consisted of 5 air-themed science experiments that use hover-boards and air cannons to teach kids about Nike Air technology and innovation.
The Air Max Zero was the main highlight & unveiled for the kids to try them while participating in physical activities like vertical jump tests.
Young athletes from Chicago gather in one place to have fun while learning about air as an element which is part of Nike’s cushioning technology.
Three Words… Word-of-mouth. Yes, It still exists and just as effective as always. For this particular event we had a very tight deadline and forced us to act fast. True grassroots promotion focused on reaching out to friends and families to communicate about the event while creating a natural buzz around it. Once the fire was ignited, social media support plus key partnerships helped make it a successful celebration.
